Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you want to know about yoga, answered

Before You Start

No, absolutely not! This is one of the most common misconceptions. Yoga is not for flexible people - yoga is done to become flexible. Everyone starts at their own level, and flexibility develops over time. I offer modifications for every pose, so everyone can practice in a way that suits their body.
Yoga can be practiced at any age. I have students from 18 to 70 years old. What matters is not age, but listening to your body and knowing your limits. Modifications and alternative poses are available for every age group.
Yes, you can join beginner-level group classes directly. However, the ideal start is to take a few private lessons to learn the fundamentals. This way, you'll learn proper form and feel more comfortable in group classes. In your first private session, we'll assess your level and determine the right program for you.

Before Class

Comfortable, stretchy clothes that allow you to move freely are ideal. Leggings, sweatpants or shorts and a comfortable t-shirt are perfect. For aerial yoga, choose clothes that cover your underarms and the back of your knees (to prevent friction). No need for socks - we practice barefoot.
The studio has mats and all necessary equipment (blocks, straps, blankets). Just bring a water bottle and a small towel. For private lessons at your home, I bring all the equipment.
I recommend not eating a heavy meal 2-3 hours before class. Forward bends and twists on a full stomach can cause discomfort. A light snack (banana, a few almonds) can be eaten 1 hour before. Drink plenty of water, but not too much right before class.

About Classes

*Private class: One-on-one attention, fully customized program, faster progress, flexible scheduling. Ideal especially for beginners or if you have specific goals. Group class:* Social atmosphere, motivating energy, more economical. A great option once you've learned the basics. Group classes have a maximum of 8 people, so I can give sufficient attention to everyone.
We connect live via Zoom. You need to have your camera on so I can see your postures and make corrections. What you need: internet connection, yoga mat, and space where you can see the screen. I send the Zoom link 5 minutes before class.
No, you can start from beginner level. Aerial yoga may look scary at first, but it's a safe and supportive practice. In the first classes, we learn how to get comfortable with the hammock, basic positions, and safety rules. For those with a fear of heights, we start at a low level.

During Practice

No problem at all! There are easier alternatives (modifications) for every pose. The goal in yoga isn't to look perfect, but to explore your body. There's no such thing as "I can't do it" - just "I'm not at that stage yet." If you're struggling, tell me and I'll show you a version that works for you.
Stop immediately and tell me. A "good stretch" feeling is normal in yoga, but there should be no sharp pain. Pain is a signal that you've exceeded your body's limit. You can rest in child's pose (balasana) or skip the movement causing pain. If you have a chronic health condition, please inform me before class.
For beginners, 2-3 times a week is ideal. Consistency is more important than intensity - 15-25 minutes every day is more effective than 2 hours once a week. Over time, your body will crave yoga and you'll naturally want to practice more often. The key is to continue with enjoyment, without forcing yourself.
